Jihan Crowther’s plays has been read, produced and developed at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, New Georges, 52nd Street Project and New York Theatre Workshop in New York; Stella Adler Theater, Son of Semele, The Actors’ Gang, Cornerstone Theater and Moving Arts Theater in LA; the Edinburgh Fringe Theatre Festival in Scotland; Theatre 503, The Oval Theatre, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, The Actors’ Centre, The Space, University of London – Goldsmiths College in London and Eastern Bloc in Montreal, Quebec. She’s been a New York Foundation for the Arts Screenwriting/Playwriting Fellow, a New York Theatre Workshop Emerging Artists Fellow and an alumna of Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Youngblood Collective and the LA-based Playwrights Union. She received two EST/Alfred P. Sloan Foundation commissions and is an Affiliate Artist at New Georges Theater in New York.
Jihan is also an essayist (Jezebel, Esquire, Hello Giggles) and a TV writer. Her credits include The Man in the High Castle (Amazon), Daisy Jones & The Six (Amazon), The Underground Railroad (Amazon), Class of 09 (FX/Hulu), Here and Now (HBO). She received her MA in Writing for Performance from University of London — Goldsmiths College.
